I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute under the mentorship of Dr. Preeti Verghese. My primary focus is on individuals with age-related macular degeneration, although I also work with older adults with normal vision.

Currently, my research aims to understand how the loss of central vision affects patients’ perception of depth, as well as their ability to navigate and interact with their environment, and what visual strategies they employ to compensate for this loss. Additionally, I am interested in developing rehabilitation techniques to assist this clinical population in adapting to their disease. To achieve these objectives, I utilize psychophysics, perceptual learning, virtual reality, and fMRI.
