As a postdoctoral fellow working under the supervision of Dr. Preeti Verghese, Dr. Vullings’ work at Smith-Kettlewell, funded by the Franco-American Fulbright commission, aimed at improving visual search in age-related macular degeneration patients by increasing scotoma awareness and optimizing their eye movement strategies. Previously, she completed her Ph.D. at University of Lille (France), in which she investigated oculomotor learning and the temporal plasticity of the saccadic system through behavioral (psychophysical and eye-tracking) methods and reinforcement techniques.
