My research focuses on understanding conditions that lead to monocular or bilateral blindness in infants and children. This includes both basic and clinical studies of retinopathy of prematurity and cortical visual impairment, the two leading causes of childhood blindness in the United States. My work also involves developing quantitative methods to assess cortical visual impairment in children and exploring innovative non-surgical approaches to managing strabismus.
